Session 8:

8.1: Wallwisher

8.2

  • How does your school/district currently support and or encourage collaboration between teachers?

I think that our school/district really support and encourage the collaboration between teachers. As a 9th grade teacher I am also in a unique position that affords me even more time to work with other teachers in the school.
  • How much do you seek to collaborate with teachers and how do you accomplish this?

I often seek to collaborate with teachers. I am fortunate to have time built in to my schedule to do this, as a member of the 9th grade academy. In addition, we collaborate via email and other technologies often to share resources and ask each other questions.
  • To what extent do you think collaboration is of growing importance for teachers seeking to implement a 21st century classroom?

In a 21st century classroom, this is crucial. As things begin to change rapidly (especially in the ways of technology) it is imperative that we have the support of our colleagues and other people to bounce ideas off of.
  • In what ways, if any, do you see the thoughts in this article applying to student conversation?

8.3

"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew." Abraham Lincoln
